OpenLift Coach FAQ - Coaching Portal for Personal Trainers

Common questions about the OpenLift Coach coaching portal and personal trainer software we will build, and how it will help manage clients, programs, and progress.

OpenLift Coach will be a coaching portal and personal trainer software for coaches who want one place to manage clients, deliver programs, and track progress. We will build structured coaching workflows, clear progress tracking, and fast client communication so admin time goes down and coaching time goes up.

OpenLift Coach will focus on a clean interface, privacy-first defaults, and deep OpenLift Tracker integration, with a self-hosting option that will arrive later for full data control. The goal will be a faster client management portal with less clutter than Trainerize, TrueCoach, and TrainHeroic.

Clients will log workouts in OpenLift Tracker, and the data will sync into OpenLift Coach so trainers can review training history, adherence, and progress trends. This coaching platform will be designed to remove manual reports and keep check-ins fast.

Yes. The portal will centralize program planning, check-ins, and client progress tracking in one workspace. You will have a clear per-client view plus quick access to plan updates and feedback.

The primary delivery will be a web coaching portal for personal trainers, optimized for desktop and mobile browsers. Clients will use OpenLift Tracker to log sessions, and dedicated coach mobile apps will be a later-stage goal after the web experience is stable.

We will include automated progression rules and a library of program templates for coaches. Trainers will be able to set logic for load, reps, and volume, and the system will suggest updates based on real performance data.

Clients will see their programs, tasks, and training history, and they will log sessions directly in the tracker. Those logs will appear in the coaching portal with notes and trends so feedback and adjustments stay aligned.

We will follow data-minimization and secure access practices, collecting only what is needed for coaching workflows. Privacy-first will mean transparent data handling, clear permissions, and a self-hosting option that will be part of the roadmap for full control.

Self-hosting will be part of the roadmap and will come after the hosted coaching portal is stable. We will prepare reliable tooling and documentation before opening self-hosted deployments.

During beta, access will be free. After that, pricing will scale by number of clients and features, with preferred terms reserved for beta participants, and exact pricing will be announced closer to launch.

Registration will happen through the waitlist form on the site. We will invite coaches in waves based on capacity and readiness, and you will receive an email when a spot opens.

Yes, there will likely be client limits during beta to keep performance and support high. Exact limits will be shared before beta begins.

We will not provide official migration tools during beta. We may explore imports later based on demand and the most common coaching workflows.

There will not be a public API or third-party integrations during beta. Once the core coaching workflow is stable, we will evaluate integrations based on coach priorities.
